TWO
TWO IS WHAT PEOPLE ACTUALLY WORE!
Started by sisters Caren and Gina Waldman in 2004, TWO grew its business to include a luxury basics range as well as a modern wearable on-trend women’s line.
TWO stocked over 60 stores around the country and were permanent designers at the Edgars SAFW designer capsule collection.
Gina left TWO in 2011 and Caren took over as owner and designer until December of 2013 when she closed the company to persue other interests.
Her design philosophy was about comfort, perfect fit, soft quality fabrics, simplicity and classical basics with on-trend detailing.
Comfortable, yet sexy, sophisticated but still playful, trendy but yet classic, TWO evolved into business that worked.
Caren designed the kind of clothes that women liked to wear. Regardless of age, she created garments that celebrated the body making you feel at ease and stylish with a quirky edge.
Caren designed all the graphics for TWO including all the logos (which were dynamic and evolving) over the years as well as all the CI, marketing materials, shop design, signage and posters.
TWO showed at SA fashion week from 2007 to 2013.
TWO was also featured on many blogs and websites and were outspoken about the state of the South African fashion industry. Especially with regards to- starting a label, being proudly commercial and the consignment dilemma.
In 2011 TWO won the Marie Claire Prix D'Excellence de La mode award for business savvy fashion label.
