AFRIKA TIKKUN
Caren again worked with her sister Gina on this incredible project. It was for an Empowerment Exhibition which Afrika Tikkun hosted at the end of 2016.
Caren and Gina met with 13 groups that are empowerment groups within the Afrika Tikkun communities in the townships of Johannesburg- Orange Farm, Alexandra, Diepsloot and Johannesburg inner city (Hillbrow).
Each group wanted to say something about what is that they are doing to empower their communities.
Gina translated their wishes into drawings and Caren then put them together graphically to be coloured in by the different groups. The coloured in posters were printed in A0 size and exhibited at the exhibition.
Caren was asked to do 3 different versions of the posters for the groups to choose the one they want.
This project was as empowering for Caren and Gina as it was for the groups and they learnt so much in the design and execution.
